*Crack!*
"Fly ball, deep left!"
"I GOT IT!" Yuzu called out. She ran back on the ball like Izumi taught her, stretched out her glove -- and promptly tripped over and faceplanted. The ball sailed over her glove and rolled past her, into the bushes. Yuzu let out a cough as she pulled herself up. "Aw...geez," she muttered. She saw Izumi start to walk out towards her but waved her off. "I'm okay! I got it!" She called and got up, running over towards the ball. She let out a sigh as she reached the bushes and began poking around.
"C'mon...where is it...? Ah, here!" She grabbed the ball and started to turn around when she heard something rustling in the bushes. She blinked and took a step closer...
...as a giant behemoth in a white coat burst out of them.
"YUUUUZUUUUU!"
"WHA-HAAAAAAAAA!"
And then promptly wrapped its arms around her...and started blubbering.
"YUZU! I WAS BEGINNING TO WORRY I'D NEVER SEE YOU OR YUYA AGAIN!"
"WHA - WHA - WHAT?! YUYA WHAT YUYA?!" Yuzu exclaimed. Near as she could tell, she was being hugged by a crying sasquatch. She looked up and her eyes widened when she got a good look at what was holding on to her.
"G....Gongenzaka?!"
"I'll save you Zuzu! IZUMI KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!"
And then Gongenzaka let out an "oof-" as Izumi's cleats went right into his face.
"....Ah...." Yuzu blanched, jaw hanging open.

"Again, I am so sorry for kicking you in the face."
"It's fine."
"And for...kicking you in the stomach for a few minutes after that."
"It's fine."
"And for trying to hit you with my glove and my bat, even after Yuzu cried out that you were here friend and - y'know what?" Izumi just clapped her hands together. "I'm just sorry for all of it."
"It's fine," Gongenzaka said, eyebrows creased slightly as he repeated himself for the third time. Yuzu, meanwhile, carefully applied bandages to his face.
"I was really surprised...have you been in the forest this whole time, Gongenzaka?!" Yuzu exclaimed.
"I was," Gongenzaka said. "Didn't Yuya tell you I went into the forest to train?"
"Well - yeah, but..." Yuzu trailed off.
"Dude, that was like a month and a half ago!" Izumi exclaimed.
"Yeah! We all assumed you went home!" Yuzu said.
"Were...were you living in the forest for the past month and a half?" Izumi asked, both eyebrows hanging up.
"..." Gongenzaka looked sheepishly from one of them to the other. Then, he nodded.
"Whoooooa..." Yuzu muttered. "Were you training that whole time?!"
"...I was only training for half the time..."
"Eh?" Yuzu quirked an eyebrow. "You were? Then why didn't you come see us when you finished?"
"I wanted to! I wanted to come find you and Yuya immediately! But, I..." Both girls stared at him inquisitvely. Gongenzaka stared down at the ground, his expression and tone ashamed. "I got lost."
"...lost?" Yuzu repeated. Gongenzaka quietly nodded.
"You were lost in the forest for three weeks?!" Izumi declared. "How'd you survive?!"
"Hunted rabbits. Ate berries. Drank from clean sources. Meditated," Gongenzaka said
"...oh," Izumi said.
"Yeah, uh, Gongenzaka's kind offff..." Yuzu gestured. "An outdoorsman."
"No shit." Izumi sounded a little impressed. "Wait - how'd you get that lost then?!" She exclaimed.
"...a sea lion stole my compass," Gongenzaka said, again ashamed.
"Well why didn't you call us?! You could've just used your Duel Disk!" Gongenzaka grimaced. Yuzu did too. "Sea lion?" He nodded. "...wow." Izumi shook her head sadly. She got it.
"They're freakin' kleptomaniacs, it's a real problem," she said. "Not makin' this up - one time I went swimming? While I was in the water, they made off with my Duel Disk, my clothes AND my shoes! I don't even know what they did with all of it! They don't have any feet!" She sighed. "Those were good shoes too."
"Well...what're you gonna do now, Gongenzaka?"
"Now...enough interruptions have gotten in my way!" He said. "I'm going to do what I came to this island to do! I'M GOING TO TAKE A SHORT NAP, TAKE A SHOWER, GET SOMETHING TO EAT CALL MY FATHER TO LET HIM KNOW I'M OKAY AND ASK HIM IF IT'S NOT TOO MUCH TROUBLE TO SEND ME A NEW DUEL DISK!" He declared boisterously. Both Yuzu and Izumi stared, confused. "AND THEN, WHEN I'VE DONE ALL THAT, I'M GOING TO FACE YUYA ONCE AND FOR ALL!"
Both Yuzu and Izumi let out an "Ohhhhhhhhhhh." and nodded in understanding.
